We are a licensed ECE centre. Our MOE number is: 70497. We are a community based centre providing quality education for your child by qualified teachers trained in early childhood education.

General Information

Hours: 7:45am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday

We operate all year except 4 weeks over Christmas holidays & public holidays.

Child ratios: Bellbirds: 1:8 (over 2) Tui: 1:4 (under 2)
For your childrens education from 3 months to 6 years.

Packing your childrens bag

Your childrens bag, lunch box and clothing should be named please.

• Inside the bag, please pack at least one complete change of clothes including a spare pair of shoes if toilet training.
• A named hat. Woolly in winter; a sun hat in summer.
• In summer apply sun block before you leave your child at the centre.

Footwear

If your child wears gumboots please provide footwear for inside and leave gumboots in the shoe box at the entrance door.
In summer NO JANDALS please. Children need sensible footwear to run and climb. We have a policy stating footwear must be worn while riding bikes and trucks.

Fees, enrolments and bookings

Our fees are currently $4.95 per hour. We offer 30 free hours^* ECE for children 3 and over, and government subsidies are available.

As you enrol your child, discuss with Marlene or Megan the regular times you wish your child to attend.

Cancellations

Please notify the centre if your child is unable to attend at least a week in advance to avoid being charged a cancellation fee.

The first few visits

The centre requests parents stay with their children to make sure they have settled before leaving them. This may take 2 to 3 visits depending on the child. Settling in is very important for your children wellbeing.

Illness

We want to keep our centre as healthy as possible. Children are taught to cover coughs and sneezes and we have boxes of tissues around the centre. Do not bring your child to the centre if they have:

• Green, runny noses.
• Conjunctivitis.
• High temperature.
• Persistent coughing.
• Head-lice (you will be phoned to collect your child and treat).

All children must be clear of vomiting or diarrhoea for 48hours before they return to the centre. Please phone or text the centre if your child is going to be absent.

Medications & Immunisations

We need to see Immunisation Certificates as part of our records and we agree with the Department of Health that "children should be immunised before enrolling at a childcare centre". If your child requires medication while at the centre, you will need to fill in the medication booklet and lock the medication in the cabinet. Ensure a staff member knows about giving the medication!

Note: If medication is not written up and signed for, IT WILL NOT BE GIVEN. This applies for homeopathic remedies as well as prescription and non prescription medication. Do not leave medications in your childrens bag.

Excursions away from the centre

Our policy states our ratio is one teacher or adult to four children.

We welcome parents input too our programme. If you have any special interests or talents you would like to share with us we would love to hear from you.

Subsidies

Subsidies are available through WINZ. Fees are paid weekly unless other arrangements have been made with Megan or Marlene. In the event of an account handled by a debt collector, $75.00 will be added. We provide up to 30 hours Free ECE^* to children from three years of age.

Profile Books

These are a snapshot of your childrens learning journey with us. Please feel free to read/comment and add to your childrens book. For privacy reasons only read your own childrens book.

Photos

We take photos often for profile books, our website and articles in the newspaper. If you do not want your childrens photo displayed please advise Marlene.

Dropping off and picking up

Please sign your child in and out. This is a Ministry of Education requirement.
